Welcome to the home of
Maties Swimming.
The Maties Swimming Club has a proud tradition of excellence, including an Olympic bronze medal in 1996 and a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games in 2002. This tradition continues today as the club consistently produces provincial and national team representatives.
This, however, is not the only goal of the Maties Swimming Club. We also wish to produce a self-disciplined and well-adjusted individual that embodies commitment to the club and the sport of swimming. With the privilege of being part of the club comes sacrifice and a sense of common purpose for parents and swimmers.
In addition to preparation and participation in competitions, we also provide a number of other offerings, which include a swimming camp, a schools programme, and a development programme.
General Information
Dear Swimmers and Parents
We have come to the end of another successful season at the Matie Swimclub. At the end of the week (26 March) our swimmers start their annual break with the exception of our Swimmers attending the Commonwealth Games trials in Durban 12-17 April.
I will be in contact shortly with group changes which will take effect on 1 June when the Sea-horses, Tadpoles and Juniors commence the seasons training. Please visit the swimming club website www.sun.ac.za/swimming from the 1 May to download the training times. The Senior groups may start slightly earlier than 1 June so please also visit the website to obtain this information.
I would like to wish you all the very best of “swimming holidays” and trust that you will return revitalized and refreshed to start the 2010/2011 season.
